The GYM

DMR designed the interior and exterior conversion of a 44,000 SF warehouse into a high-end fitness facility for The GYM. The team behind The GYM operated the facility, celebrated as an upscale fitness and lifestyle facility that offered a modern, energizing space with tremendous amenities and programs, for many years before it was sold to Equinox.

Having previously opened two other facilities prior to bringing on DMR to design their third facility in Armonk, The GYM looked to DMR for a fresh design perspective that maintained The GYM’s vision of being a place that offered opportunities for total health and wellness, from traditional fitness equipment to a high-end spa, and their values grounded in nature and technology. DMR delivered through features such as a wood ceiling marking the entrance, a glass façade and translucent wall colors to match the mood of the space.

Amenities include training programs with fitness experts, free weights, circuit training, a juice bar, a designated children’s area, a spa, sauna and tremendous locker room area.

The GYM received the “Best of Year” Merit Award from Interior Design, celebrating the use of materials and products to create a sophisticated space.
